Walken Seymour utilize eight exclusive lodges in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The location of each stay is dictated by the season of the year and the animals required by the individual hunters. All lodges are secure and comfortable brick or stone buildings. A full staff compliment in each, ensures a comfortable and luxurious stay. Electrical charging points are always available, in South Africa we use 220V AC current so be advised to bring an adaptor if it differs from the service offered in your country of origin. South Africa has an excellent cellular telephone network, with coverage in even the most remote hunting areas. This may also be used for internet access, ensuring that one is never be out of touch with family or business. Traveling between hunting areas is kept to a minimum, ensuring optimal time in the bush hunting and relaxing!
The various lodges we use in the Eastern Cape allow access to large hunting concessions. This enables our professional hunters to hunt over twenty eight species of game indigenous to this area. Big Five hunting can be arranged in the Northern Provinces of South Africa or neighboring countries namely: Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. We use reputable outfitters in the neighboring countries, guaranteeing the best quality and service.
Walken Seymour offers a wide variety of hunting experiences and caters for all methods of hunting, from rifle, black powder and handgun to bow hunting. Our rifle and handgun hunting is done in the walk and stalk method, enabling us to harvest the most impressive trophies for our clients. For bow hunting we make use of blinds and stands on game trails with very successful results. We recommend that hunters coming to Africa for the first time bring a rifle of suitable caliber and also their preferred hunting weapon, if it is not a rifle. We also strongly recommend bringing the weapon that is normally used if booking a plains game safari, as bullet placement is more important than size on plains game. Premium grade ammunition is recommended. Premium bullets that we recommend are Nosler Parition, Swift A Frame, Barnes X, Winchester Trophy Bonded and Fail Safe.

The nearest major airport is Port Elizabeth situated on the south eastern coast of South Africa and the lodges used to accommodate our guests are all 3 hrs or less drive from the airport. PE is the gateway into the historically rich and vibrant tourist and hunting Eastern Cape area. The area boasts some of the most diverse and beautiful habitats in South Africa and goes from thick indigenous coastal forests to soaring mountains with light snow falls on the peaks in winter. |
